Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Forge, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be of the legal age required to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

2. Description of Service

Forge is a personal discipline and habit tracking application for iOS. The Service is organised into four main sections — Dashboard, Workout, Habits, and Analytics — and provides:

• Habit logging for both good and bad habits, with multiple tracking styles (simple, count, duration, and quality).
• Workout planning and logging across strength, running, cycling, swimming, yoga, HIIT, walking, and custom workout types.
• Daily mood check-ins with weighted scoring.
• Daily discipline scoring combining exercise, habit, and mood components.
• Analytics and behavioural insights computed locally from your own data.
• Optional step-count integration via Apple HealthKit.

The Service is for informational and self-development purposes only. It does not provide medical, psychological, or professional advice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age at which you can legally consent to use digital services in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.

4. User Data and Device Responsibility

Forge does not require account creation. All of your behavioural data is stored locally on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Because there is no cloud backup or sync, you are responsible for the security of your device and for any data loss caused by device loss, damage, or replacement. A full data export is available at any time from Settings → Export Data, but only you can initiate it.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

A. Premium Subscription Tiers

Forge offers three premium subscription tiers with the following product identifiers:

• Monthly: forge_premium_monthly
• Quarterly: forge_premium_quarterly
• Annual: forge_premium_annual

All subscription payments are processed exclusively through Apple's in-app purchase system. We do not collect or store payment information.

B. Premium Features

A premium subscription unlocks advanced analytics and behavioural insights, detailed stat breakdowns and trends, and ten additional notification types: Training Spark, Habit Yield Gap, Forge Opportunity, Movement Floor Warning, Willpower Leak Report, Discipline Arc Decline, Relapse Window, Weekly Mood Report, Virtue Drop, and Habit Yield Gap Free.

C. Billing and Renewal

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Renewal is charged within 24 hours of the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

D. Promotional Codes

Promotional codes may be offered at our discretion and grant premium access equivalent to a paid subscription for a defined period. Codes are validated via a cryptographic hash (SHA-256) stored in the app, and cannot be reverse-engineered. Promotional codes are issued for personal use only and may not be distributed, shared, sold, or published.

E. Refunds

All refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store refund policy. The developer does not process payments or refunds directly and cannot issue refunds on Apple's behalf.

6. Apple Licensed Application Terms

This agreement is between you and Cecil Dube, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the Service. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

7. Acceptable Use

The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the app.
• Modify, tamper with, or interfere with the app's security features.
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent subscription mechanisms or premium feature gates.
• Distribute, share, sell, or publish promotional access codes.
• Attempt unauthorised access to any supporting systems.

8. HealthKit Data Use

If you grant Forge access to Apple HealthKit, step count data is used solely to calculate discipline scores and activity analytics on your device. In accordance with Apple's HealthKit policy:

• HealthKit data is never shared with third parties.
• HealthKit data is never used for advertising or marketing.
• HealthKit data is never transmitted off your device.

You can revoke HealthKit access at any time via iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Forge.

9. Notifications

Forge schedules local notifications only — there is no remote notification server. The app supports up to 17 notification types (7 available on the free tier, 10 additional with premium), covering reminders, streak alerts, mood reports, exercise prompts, and behavioural insights. Notification content is derived from your own data, generated on your device. You can disable notifications at any time via iOS Settings → Notifications → Forge.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, design, source code, scoring systems, analytics algorithms, curated Stoic quotations, and related assets — including the "Forge" name and app icon — are the property of Cecil Dube and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. The data you create within the app (your habits, logs, moods, and workouts) remains yours.

11. Disclaimers

A. Not Medical or Professional Advice

The Service is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or fitness advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Discipline scores, mood tracking, and behavioural insights are intended for personal reflection only. Workout logging does not replace professional coaching or training guidance. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting any exercise programme or making decisions related to your health.

B. Data Accuracy

Analytics and insights are derived from the data you enter and from step count data provided by Apple HealthKit, and may not reflect your actual health status. Step count accuracy depends on HealthKit and your device hardware. Discipline scores are algorithmic calculations, not clinical assessments.

C. Service Availability

The app functions entirely offline and has no server dependencies for its core functionality. Features may change with future updates. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

D. "As Is" Provision

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cecil Dube shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to data loss, device issues, or decisions made based on insights produced by the Service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the subscription in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cecil Dube from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Service or breach of these Terms.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app. Cancelling a subscription does not delete the locally stored data on your device; that data remains until you remove individual entries or uninstall the app.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through an app update or an in-app notice, and the effective date above will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
